Southern Carburetters and Injection started trading in 1974 in an old stables just off the Broadway in Wimbledon SW19 (home of the tennis!) We soon became a Weber dealer and our old car connections meant we also started selling SU, Zenith and Solex parts at around the same time. In 1985 we moved to a new factory unit at Nelson Trade Park still in Wimbledon.
The introduction of the Weber direct replacement meant that caburetter sales soared and SCI soon became the UKs leading Weber dealer, something we still are today. Solex UK came and went but the classic carburetter market gained pace along with the number of classic cars. SU carburetters, still made today and SU fuel pumps make up a large part of our turnover.
Over the years many new products have been added to our products range including; Facet fuel pumps, FSE power boost valves, K&N, Pipercross & ITG air filters add to our performance range.. Alpha engine management was also added some years ago.
Over the last 20 years the fuel injection and engine management market has grown tremendously and we have constantly added to our range. In 2005 we produced our first engine management catalogue.
In 2002 long time employees Steve Fardell and Roy McNeill purchased the company following the untimely death of the original owner Laurence Mahon. Since their purchase the company has pushed strongly forward introducing new products on a regular basis. The latest being a range of classic distributors and electronic ignition systems.
